I've been to several of the other locations of this company and I drive past 3 of them to go here. Nate is awesome and helpful. Company should send front desk employees fro the other locations to train with him. They would probably increase their sales and ratings if they did.

Saw they were closed when I pulled up. The gentleman from the shop came outside to see what was wrong and he immediately made the decision to help me and fix my tire so I wasn't stranded in these subzero temperatures. After getting turned away by two other places in Valparaiso they were my saving grace by helping me out eventhough they had just closed. A true class act by everyone there and thank you very much. Used the Tire Barn many times and it's where I go for tires in Valparaiso... Went in this morning on a Sunday at 10 am for a set of tires for my Dodge Caliber and as usual was treated very well by a knowledgeable gentleman at the desk... Wish I had asked his name because he's a nice guy who tries to give you the straight dope about the tires and he makes recommendations... He's personable and treats you well... He's the perfect guy for the job...! Made me a great deal, since the tire I was thinking about was out of stock and cost $14.00 less than the one he recommended and he gave it to me for the same price... Nate S. (Assistant Manager) is fantastic! I was not happy that I had a flat tire on my car that I had to fill with fix-a-flat and after looking at my tires, I thought I really should probably replace all of them. It being just before Christmas didn't make it any more fun. I arrived at the store and Nate looked everything over and let me know I would be wasting money as all my tires were fine. He had the guys take off my tire, clean out all the fix-a-flat, patch it, and put it back on. All of this without even charging me for it. Plus I was in and out of there in about 15 minutes. I had purchased a set of Michelin tires from tire rack dot com because they were the specific tires I wanted and no one else had them in stock. I had them delivered to the tire barn in Merrillville and had them installed there. The salesman there basically told me that I should have bought the tires from him and I didn't get a good deal. He didn't even give me a chance to tell him that I would have purchased them from him except they had none in stock and that specific tire was on national backorder... I was lucky to find a set online. After having them installed by the Merrillville store I noticed a shaking in my vehicle at higher speeds... Concerned, I decided to go to the valpo location and see if they would check the balance of the tires. Turns out, they were all out of balance and balanced improperly. I got the tires rebalanced properly free of charge thanks to NATHAN SMOLEK. Went in because I had slow leak in one of my tires. I had bought the tires approximately 6 months ago, but lost the paperwork. They were very nice and accommodating in regards to fixing my tire.
